Shri Arun Ramanathan, Part-time Chairman is a retired IAS Officer of Tamil Nadu Cadre (1973). In his stint of 36 years in the IAS, Shri Ramanathan had held assignments in diverse areas. His postings at the Centre at the level of Secretary were: Secretary Department of Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Secretary Financial Services and at superannuation in 2009, the Union Finance Secretary. Shri Ramanathan holds Masters Degrees in Nuclear Physics from Andhra University, Business Administration from Madras University and Development Economics from Cambridge University, all with distinction. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute of the Cost and Works Accountants of India.

Shri Ramanathan has served on the Boards of over 35 Companies including State Bank of India, IDBI, LIC, ICICI, IIFCL, IDFC, ONGC, Shipping Corporation of India, National Textiles Corporation, ONGC Videsh, Titan Industries, Indian Clearing Corporation, Jenson and Nicholson, JCT Electronics and Religare Enterprises. He has served as Chairman of the Audit Committees of ONGC, ONGC Videsh, and SCI.

He is currently an Independent Director on the Boards of L&T Fincorp Ltd and Equitas Holdings Ltd. He is also an Independent Director and the Non Executive Chairman of L&T Infra Debt Fund Ltd. Shri Ramanathan is a serving Member on the India Advisory Council of Daimler Commercial Vehicles (India), the Investment Committee of the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Management Company, the Advisory Committee of the Hindustan Latex Family Promotion Programme, and the Project Management Board of FINISH, a Netherlands promoted organisation involved in rural sanitation in India.
Mr. Arun Kumar Verma, Independent Director is a Fellow Chartered Accountant from ICAI. He is also a Law Graduate and has done Diploma in Information Systems Audit. He is the past Chairman of the Bhubaneswar Branch of EIRC of ICAI and a Peer Reviewer in Peer Review Board, ICAI other than being a Guest Faculty in University Law College, Bhubaneswar. He has been in Public Practice as Chartered Accountant since 1979.

High Ethical Standards and Integrity have been the guiding factors while discharging duties in Public Practice. He was felicitated for ‘War Against Corruption’ by Transparency International India on World Anti Corruption Day - 9th December, 2007.

During Public Practice he has been professionally associated, inter alia, with Steel & Mines Department, Commercial Taxes Department of Govt. of Odisha. He has rendered service as a Vigiliance Auditor for Orissa Mining Corporation Ltd, Govt. of Odisha Undertaking and has also been associated with National Rural Health Mission, Odisha, Konark Met Coke Ltd, Orissa State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd, National Vector Borne Disease Control Program, funded by World Bank, Orissa State Warehousing Corporation Ltd, State Resource Centre of the National Literacy Mission, State Bank of India and various other nationalised banks and insurance companies.
Prof. N. Balakrishnan, Independent Director is a scientist of high international repute and is well decorated with prestigious awards. He received his B.E. (Hons.) in Electronics and Communication from the University of Madras in 1972 and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science in 1979. He is currently the Associate Director of the Indian Institute of Science and a Professor at the Department of Aerospace Engineering and at the Supercomputer Education and Research Centre. He played a crucial role in building India's first Supercomputer Centre and the National Centre for Science Information at the Indian Institute of Science. His areas of research, where he has over 200 publications in the international journals and international conferences, include Numerical Electromagnetics, High Performance Computing and Networks, Polarimetric Radars and Aerospace Electronic Systems, Information Security, Digital Library and Speech processing.

He has been a visiting research scientist and a Honorary/ Visiting Professor in many leading international universities and institutions. He also served in the past as a Member of the National Security Advisory Board, Part-time Member of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Member of Scientific Advisory Committee to Cabinet, Member of Board of Governors of CDAC, ISI, IIT Chennai and Delhi, Director of Bharat Electronics Limited, IFCI, Central Bank of India, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, CDOT-Alcatel Research Centre, Chennai, a member of the Council of CDAC and many universities and CSIR laboratories.

He has given critical inputs in many major National initiatives in IT Planning and Information Security. He played a key role in the shaping of the Information Security and Cryptanalysis Research Plans and Radar Cross Section Prediction and Management, of DRDO, Technology Facility Organization of India and the CERT-IN of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. He is also the National Coordinator of the Indo-French Cyber University and Indo-US Digital Library Projects). He along with his colleagues from India, China and the US created the world's largest Digital Library hosting more than a million books, freely accessible to all, anywhere and anytime.
Ms. Lalitha Lakshmanan, Independent Director has over 35 years of experience in the Banking Sector and holds a Master’s degree in Bank Management from Alagappa University, Tamilnadu, India. After a brief stint of 3 years in ITC Bangalore, Mrs Lalitha Lakshmanan joined Canara Bank as a Probationary Officer in 1975. Promoted as Manager in 1985, Executive in 1995, she retired as Chief General Manager in June 2013.

She was successful in all her assignments, had pan-India exposure in operations and various facets of Banking. Besides surpassing business targets, was successful in accomplishing targets under Insurance and Mutual fund. She was the FIRST WOMAN CIRCLE HEAD of the Bank after 1987. Having had many firsts to her credit, Large & Exceptionally Large branches headed by her were adjudged with many accolades including declaring them as Best Branches/Model Branches.

As a promising and performing youngest Executive, she was selected to participate in a conclave held at Luxembourg for three weeks on ‘customer orientation’ programme in 1998 as one amongst 9 bankers representing the Country.

She was one amongst 12 bankers to participate in the Exchange programme “Marching towards World Class Banking” conducted by RBI/MDI in 2009. Her interactions with the regulator during the program helped her in gaining insights as to how RBI guided and monitored commercial Banks in India and weathered the financial crises of 2008-2009 in comparison with European counterparts. She was a part of many internal committees at various levels during her tenure at H.O.
Dr. Parthasarathi Shome, Non-Executive Director is Chairman, International Tax Research and Analysis Foundation (ITRAF). He is Member of the Audit Advisory Board, Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG), 2015-2017; Member of the Board of Directors, International Tax and Investment Center (ITIC), Washington D.C., 2015 to present; Member of the Academic Board of Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT), 2015 to present; and Member, Forum on Economic and Fiscal Policy (FEFP), The Hague, 2015 to present.

He has held various other Member and Advisory positions in the past with Government of India as well as with other Countries. He received the highest civilian honour of the Brazilian Government, Commander of the Order of the Southern Cross, 2000, for contributions to Brazilian tax reform. He was among the 2012, 2013 and 2015 Global Tax 50 of the International Tax Review, “Individuals and organisations that made a substantial impact on tax practice and administration in the past 12 months”. His publication has been featured in many economic and tax related journals and books of international repute.
Dr. Ramakrishnan K, Independent Director holds a Doctorate in development banking with thesis on functioning of Self Help Groups. He has hands on experience of lending to agriculture and other allied activities. Having been a career banker, he has 43 years of experience at all levels.

He has knowledge and experience at junior as well as top management levels of Bank of India and later as Executive Director and Chairman of two very big Public Sector banks. As Chairman of Andhra Bank, he entered into strategic alliances for the bank in Insurance, Joint Venture Bank, and opening foreign branches / offices in strategic locations and consolidated the Bank’s position financially going in for follow on Public issue in 2006.

As Chief Executive of Indian Banks Association, he interacted with bank heads across the country and liaise with Govt and RBI on important macro issues concerning the banking industry.
Mr. Sridhar Ganesh, Independent Director, an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, was until recently the Director of Human Resources of the Murugappa Group and was also the Lead Director for the diversified businesses of the Group. Prior to joining the Murugappa Group in 2007, Mr Sridhar was working with Cadbury Schweppes plc, based in the UK and was their Learning & Development Director for the EMEA region.

From 1993 to 2001, he was the HR Director for Cadbury India Limited and prior to that was the Head of Personnel Department for Berger Paints India Limited. Mr Sridhar has over forty years of experience in varied facets of human resource management, at both operational and strategic levels. He has worked extensively in the areas of Leadership Development, Employee Engagement, Organisation Culture, Personal Impact and Presence and Coaching, which continues to be one of his passion areas.

Mr Sridhar works as a Leadership Coach for senior level executives in business. He is the Chairperson of the Management Development Centre at Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA). He is also on the Boards of several Companies and has a deep interest in social work.
Mr. Srinivasan N, Independent Director holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from University of Madras and a Masters degree in Economics from Madurai Kamaraj University. He is also a certified associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.

Prior to joining the Board of our Company, he was the chief general manager at NABARD. He has also authored a book on microfinance.
Ms. Tabassum Inamdar, Independent Director is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a career Investment Banker with wide and rich experience of more than two decades across reputed firms like Goldman Sachs, UBS Securities, Kotak Securities and Jardine Fleming India Broking Limited. Key highlights of her investment banking experience are:

  • Indepth analysis and research on the financial sector identifying stocks for investments in India and interacting with clients for building a strong franchise
  • Publishing thematic reports on financial services sector including Asset quality in Asia, Asia Digital Banking, Returns and Investment Opportunities in Asia, PSU Bank reforms, retail lending, rural banking, infrastructure lending, insurance business, capital account convertibility, etc,.

Post her retirement from Goldman Sachs, Ms Inamdar has decided to focus on the social sector and plan to associate herself with the Education and Financial inclusion space. Currently, she is trying to assess the best model in the education space, while continuing to support Akanksha and Teach for India. Simultaneously, she is also helping a micro-insurance distributor co-operative that is focused on women employed in the informal sector and earning low income.
Mr. Vinod Kumar Sharma, Independent Director holds a Bachelors degree in Science as well as a Masters degree in Science (Physics) from Saugor University.

Prior to joining our Company, he served as an executive director of the RBI and has chaired the Working Group on Interest Rate Futures and Working Group on Common Clearing for Commodity Exchanges.
Mr. Vasudevan P N, Managing Director & CEO holds a Bachelors degree in Science from University of Madras. He is a qualified company secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

He has extensive experience in the financial services sector and had served as the Head – Consumer Banking Group in Development Credit Bank Limited, for more than one and half years.

He has also worked for about two decades in Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co Limited, part of the Murugappa Group, where he joined as a management trainee and resigned as vice president and business head of vehicle finance. He was also the chairman of the managing committee of the South India Hire Purchase Association for the Financial Year 2006.
